Welcome
As a candidate for membership in the RESCUE FIRE COMPANY, NO 5, we its officers and members would like to take this opportunity to acquaint you with some duties and obligations you are expected to assume as a member of our company.
Your first duty, if elected for membership, will be to qualify as a volunteer firefighter conscientiously attending fire drills and training classes and then applying this knowledge in thefulfillment of the main reason for your joining our company, that of saving lives, extinguishing fires, and the preservation of property.
May we impress this fact upon you very strongly. Your first five years as a member are devoted to this goal. We are not accepting you as a social member.
